Welsh Labour MP hails government backing of Christmas rail misery

Welsh Labour MP Beth Winter has hailed the Welsh Government’s backing of the rail strikes causing misery for millions this holiday season.

In a tweet, she applauded a statement issued by the Welsh government in solidarity with Trade Union Council (TUC) calling for the UK Government to directly intervene in rail strike pay talks.

She lauds the work done by the Welsh Government, despite the RMT union still striking in Wales and having a massive impact of travel to and from Wales as if they had solved the problems this side of the railway bridge but in reality, the Welsh government has just shown its socialist agenda for Wales.

What Ms Winter also appears to forget is that Nurses, who are also on strike and were joined by Beth Winter on the picket line, were told by the Welsh Government that there is no money for a pay rise, despite Welsh Ministers aiming to increase their own number at a cost exceeding £100 million to the Welsh taxpayer.

There are of course other areas where the Welsh government is keen to sit behind Westminster such as when it comes to an independent COVID inquiry which Mark Drakeford tells us we don’t want, and that we have “gotten over it” (we haven’t) so his action during the pandemic cannot be scrutinised.

(and anyone that dares to say differently is met with the Drakeford tantrum!)
