A new era has begun in Wales today the installation of a new First Minister to lead Wales in a new direction full of prosperity and hope, at least that’s what it should be but the reality is far from it.
The new leader is Vaughan Gething, a prodigy of outgoing Mark Drakeford and his pound shop socialism, who has already shown his true colours in an election process which used race as a leverage and was funded by corrupt money.
Corruption
Things first started to emerge over the last few months when it transpired that Gething had accepted £200,000 cash donations from a man who was convicted not once, but twice, of illegal waste disposal on the Gwent Levels, an iconic, wetland landscape of International significance.
It then emerged that the same man was wanting to build a Solar farm and this was something which Gething would have the final say on. Something smells a bit funny already.
This was then compound when it came to light that not only had Gething lobbied for this environmental offender in the past but had actually helped him obtain money from the Development Bank of Wales for his companies, including the one that dumped waste on the Gwent Levels.
Did Gething return the donations when this emerged? No, because he already knew about the history of David Neal.
Lies and Deceit
Next came the COVID inquiry in Wales where Gething, as health minister, faced some serious questions about the actions of the Welsh Government at the time and the apparent desire to everything it could to be different from England.
Many of these conversations, as with Westminster, happened over the messaging service Whatsapp.
As a result Gething was asked to hand over his messages from the time are automatically backed up by Whatsapp and as per Welsh Government policy.
Gething informed the inquiry that the messages had been deleted when his phone went in for “maintenance” despite him being told to back them up before hand.
During this period he oversaw policies such as stopping people from being able to buy baby clothes in supermarkets whilst a litre of Vodka was obtainable and harsh lockdown restrictions, which he himself broke with a picnic in the park (the rules changed when it emerged what he had done to make it ok).
Gething branded the deletion of the messages as an “embarrassment” but the disappearance of them is certainly convenient for him as it allows him to say what he likes about the decision making without any ability to verify what he says.
Dog killing crash bandit
Ok, so there is a caveat here in that the killing of a dog is alleged! The story is that Gething was leaving his family home when he ran over the neighbours Labrador and rather than getting help, he drove off and denied it ever happend. Again, allegedly!
What we do know about his driving record though is he has a habit of crashing into things and blaming others.
A few years ago Gething took to social media to ask why a bus belonging to local independent bus company New Adventure Travel had crashed into him however an analysis of the CCTV on the bus showed that Gething had in fact tried to push in front of the bus causing the collision.
Just another example of Welsh Labour’s “blame everyone else” mantra that he and his master are so fond of.
Meet the boss, same as the old boss.
But now we have Gething as First Minister. His predecessor Mark Drakeford oversaw a period where the Welsh NHS became the worst in the UK, where waiting lists are the longest in the UK, where people die waiting 24 hours for an ambulance.
A Wales where forcing everyone to drive at 20mph instead of 30mph on open roads is considered more important than education or health.
A Wales where the government refuses to listen to thousands of voices of the people of Wales.
Being a prodigy of Drakeford, Gething will continue this race to the bottom as like his former boss, he has no actual ideas, and definitely no clue.
