Mark Drakeford escapes 20mph furore with first class trip to rugby (at our expense)

Mark Drakeford has come under heavy criticism in the last couple of weeks for the recent forced default speed limit change from 30mph to 20mph across Wales with the biggest ever Senedd petition against the change, and even calls within his own party to rethink the blanket change, so you could almost forgive him for wanting to take a break…

… and that’s exactly what he has done.

The First Minister of Wales, famous for his sporting prowess, decided he would take a trip to Nantes to see Wales play rugby, at our expense, in first class.

Cheerfully posting a picture on social media from his first-class high-speed train seat proclaiming “Our relationship with France is stronger than ever” and declaring it the year of “Wales in France” (perhaps as he seems to spend more time there than in Wales.

So enjoy your trip to France Mark, just remember who is paying for it, although it seems a shame you couldn’t back Wales’ only airport (which you own) and fly to France.
